The latest Arsenal transfer news/rumours going around is that former Arsenal skipper and hero, Cesc Fabregas may be coming home. Sources close to the player say that he is unhappy with being in and out of the team, particularly for the important matches such as the Champions League match against Bayern Munich earlier in the year. Manchester United have made a running for the player, with new manager David Moyes keen to strengthen the midfield. However, with Arsenal having first refusal, and money still owed from Barcelona, if there was a possibility Fabregas would return to England, it would be to Arsenal. His family also live in London, which will be a deciding factor.
Other players Arsenal have been linked with are Jovetic (who looks to be headed for Juventus), Ashley Williams from Swansea and Wayne Rooney from Manchester United. Jovetic’s price of 25 million has pushed Wenger away as he will only offer 20 million, however Ashley Williams looks a likely addition to the squad, while there have not been any recent developments with Wayne Rooney. No doubt though, all the focus is on what Cesc Fabregas wants to do and where he may end up. If Wenger was to snatch the superstar midfielder back, it would prove to be a sign of intent for the new season. Arsenal for once are looking to keep stars such as Wilshere and Walcott, while adding class and power. Wenger is building something, no doubt. Next year may just be the reward for the trophy-less years of patience and frustration.
